Maximum Review: Kid Icarus:
So, I seem to be horrible at determining the length of games. When I wrote that last update, I only had one level left of Uprising. At least it meant I didn't have to think that hard about today's post, at least. I'll try my best not to spoil the plot, but I'll still put up a minor Spoiler Warning for the sake of safety.

Blog Update
Wow, its been half a month since I posted. And it will be a little while more before I will get up a legitimate post. Life has been busy for me, as school and now a Spring Break job has kept me from writing about Nintendo. Expect a Kid Icarus: Uprising review as soon as I finish it, but I think I'll have some time to write at the end of the week, so I hope to get another post up Friday or Saturday. I can say right now about Uprising is that it is a definite must-have for any 3DS owner. I find it fitting that it was the first 3DS game to be shown. See you soon!

A Case for Creativity: Why I Think the "Nintendo is Unoriginal" Argument is Garbage
Internet discussion about video games (and really, most everything) eventually downgrades into nothing more than stupid flame wars about subjects that only half relate to the original topic. Nintendo discussions are especially annoying, because one stray comment by some PlayStation fanatic looking for attention turns the whole thing into a place of anarchy and insanity. One common thread I hear from Nintendo haters is "Why buy the next Mario? Its pretty much the same game", "That new Zelda hasn't changed anything from Ocarina of Time", "Come up with something new Nintendo we've seen enough of Mario, Link, and Pokémon". I find this argument to be annoying and unoriginal (then I guess its makes it a bit hypocritical), and also garbage because most successful publishers do the exact same thing, but even to a worse degree than Nintendo in most cases. Here are some examples.

Games I'd Like to See on the Wii U
To be perfectly honest, that last post about the Wii U was definitely sub-par on my part. I felt the need to get a post out, so I rushed it. For that I apologize (though I do think the Wii U could very well be a stopgap). Today I have another Wii U-related post that I think will be fun. I'm gonna throw out some game ideas (probably most if not all related to a existing series) that I would love to play on the Wii U. I don't know how many I'll do, but enjoy nonetheless.

How the Wii U Could Change Nintendo's Position in the Console Market
We are now closer to the launch of Nintendo's new console, the Wii U, which will be out in nine months at the latest from now. After a shift of focus to the mass populace with the Wii and its motion control, many "hardcore" gamers have left Nintendo, writing them off as a kiddy toy maker. But now Microsoft and Sony both have made similar moves to appeal to the masses, though both the Kinect and especially the PlayStation Move have not seen the Wii's success. It is during this interesting time in the gaming world that the Wii U will be unleashed, and I think Nintendo can use this loss of focus by its competition and retake the core gaming market with the console. And all the while, retain at least a decent amount of its casual audience.
The Wii U will no doubt change the gaming world forever. |

My Full Thoughts on Pokémon Black 2 and White 2
Last week, Nintendo promised us gamers a major Pokémon announcement for that Saturday, and while we all thought it was going to be the speculated Pokémon Gray for the 3DS, we ended up getting news that it will be instead Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 on the original DS. This is something no one could have ever predicted, and has provided plenty of controversy. I can see why they did it, but I can also see how it can hurt the Pokémon franchise immensely. (Side Note: I figured out you can use jump breaks on Blogger, so I'm gonna start doing that to save space on the main page. I'm also really considering retroactively adding them to my older posts, too.)

Maximum Review: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
"Wow," you're probably saying. "MetaMoss promises more opinion articles, and then he just does two reviews in a row." I was planning on doing some sort of general opinion post, but my completion of Snake Eater 3D that happened earlier than I expected changed that. My reasoning for doing a review now is so the game is still fresh in my mind. Enough of my reasoning. Lets get on with the review. Oh, as a side note: Some parts of this review may be formatted differently than my RE: Revelations review. I'm still figuring out what kind of setup I like.
